Kelly Center of Hope is proud to be the first licensed Safe Place Agency in Eastern North Carolina. Through the National Safe Place Network, we provide immediate access to safety, support, and resources for youth ages 12–21 who are experiencing a crisis, homelessness, family conflict, abuse, or other unsafe situations. Youth can seek help at designated Safe Place locations displaying the Safe Place sign or text SAFE and their location to 44357 (4HELP) to find the nearest Safe Place and connect with support. Together with community partners, we are committed to ensuring that no young person faces a crisis alone.

The Residential Transitional Living Program (TLP) serves young adults ages 18–21 who are facing homelessness or aging out of foster care. Through safe, supportive housing, residents are given the opportunity to build independence while working toward personal goals. The program focuses on daily life skills, educational support, employment and career readiness, and financial literacy, helping young adults gain the tools and confidence needed to successfully transition into stable, independent living.

As the first licensed Safe Place agency in Eastern North Carolina, we are part of a national network that provides immediate safety for youth in crisis. If a young person is runaway, homeless, or in an unsafe situation, they can look for the yellow-and-black Safe Place diamond sign at partner locations. We provide a direct link to emergency help, specialized care, and supportive services 24/7.
We primarily serve youth and young adults ages 18-21, who are facing housing instability, transitioning out of the foster care system, or experiencing a crisis that makes their current living situation unsafe. Our facility is designed to be a "bridge" to a stable future, offering residents a nurturing environment with access to life skills training, educational support, and a dedicated computer lab and library. However, as a Safe Place Agency, we are able to serve ages 12-21.
Our mission extends far beyond the walls of our facility. We are active participants in community events throughout the year and lead various outreach initiatives—such as our Back to School and Christmas Blessings programs—to provide essential items like diapers and gifts to families in need. Whether we are partnering with local schools or assisting survivors of domestic violence, we are committed to being a constant source of support and hope for all our neighbors.
